Ego is rooted in the Anchors and the biases that live in the Observer. When Ego is speaking, it does not give room for Listening.

Every human being can wake up to their true nature. Waking up means we transcend the illusion of Ego and end up with a heart that is wide open and willing to serve first. We simply can’t stop it anymore. That is why the result is selfless service. So, we learn that selfless leadership is already within us as our natural state, and we’ve covered up this true self with various illusions and mental constructs. As a result, we don’t need to learn anything new; rather, we must rediscover and uncover what is dormant within us all. The path is to un-see our mistaken identity.
Chadwick Boseman Tribute to Denzel Washington | AFI 2019
At the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award event in 2019, Boseman delivered a moving speech saluting Washington, who once paid his tuition for a summer acting program while Boseman was attending Howard University.
“Many of you already know the story that Mr. Washington was asked by Phylicia Rashad to join her in assisting nine theater students from Howard University who had been accepted to a summer acting program at the British Academy of Dramatic Acting in Oxford,” Boseman said in his tribute.
“As fate would have it, I was one of the students that he paid for. Imagine receiving the letter that your tuition for that summer was paid for and that your benefactor was none other than the dopest actor on the planet.”
