LONG BIO

Carlo Mahfouz operates at the frontier of AI and human potential. He is Vice President of Strategic Technology Partnerships at Laerdal Medical, the global leader in healthcare simulation and resuscitation training, where he works at the intersection of advanced technology, healthcare transformation, leadership ecosystems and human-centered innovation. He shapes the technology strategy for AI and emerging technologies across a simulation-based education portfolio, and has guided the transformation from a deep hardware heritage to being digitally native, in service of a mission to help save one million more lives each year. The role builds on fifteen years in health tech and ed-tech, where technology decisions carry human consequences.

He is a board member, advisor and investor across future-looking health and ed-tech companies, and heads innovation at Lyrica Classic, a non-profit that promotes contemporary and lesser-known classical music. He is the author of Reality Check: In Pursuit of the Right Questions (2022), nine principles for seeing past the illusions of control, and speaks internationally on how AI is reshaping the relationship between technology and human potential.

An Executive Contributor to Brainz Magazine and a 2022 CREA Global Awards honoree, he has been featured on KevinMD, The Authority Podcast, the Scandinavian Product Podcast, The Speaking Club and by the Global Innovation Institute.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame University and an Executive MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. With an engineering background and six years across Europe, Asia and the Americas, he marries a technical fluency with an understanding of human behavior.
